Meeting Jakes & Winston Coetzee from Shore Electrical, was most certainly one of the most educational meetings which I have ever had in my life. I just sat there with my ears literally flapping, for more and more fascinating stories from a man who worked in the Department of Public Works an an Electrical Inspector, and then as Chief Electrical Inspector for the Government for 20 years.

What really opened my eyes, was the absolute ruthlessness of insurance assessors, who are tasked to find the proverbial needle in a haystack, which will result in a big DECLINED stamp on ones insurance claim. Certainly not a nice outcome when ones home or business burns down. Even if 1 plug does not match your certificate, you have a problem and the insurance companies feel no mercy, it is strictly business for them.

At the base of every investigation by insurance assessors is the Certificate of Compliance. This is either your magic ticket, or the document which will end up costing you everything. If the Certificate of Compliance is not 100% correct and does not match your installation 100%, say goodbye to your money.
